Perfect for the home hobbiest or even a boutique jam making pro, your jam recipe will surely behave as it should. Whoever eats your jam will forever thank-you for perfectly making your jam in this pot.

Features and Benefits

  • 15 quart Copper pot.
  • Suitable for all stove types.
  • High heat conductivity thanks to the use of copper.
  • Sturdy dual handles made from bronze with copper rivets.
  • Tapered sides for ease of stirring and pouring.
  • Guaranteed for life against any manufacturing defects.

What Could Be Better?

Mauviel’s ‘M’Passion 2193.40 Copper 15-Quart Jam Pan with Bronze Handles’ seems like it delivers inevitably at all times but some Amazon reviewers have pointed out few of its flaws –

  • The bronze handles on the ends can take up some heat although you may have to wear a pair of good oven mitts.
  • A miniscule complaint from a few of the users that the company sticker is inside of the pot leaving behind the sticky residue if removed by plain water. So opting for salt and lemon to get rid of it in no time is a smart choice.

Bottom Line

With tons of jam making pots on the market to choose from, one tends to be jumpy on his/her decision when picking the best pot for making jam. BUT Mauviel’s M’Passion Copper 15-Quart Jam Pan does away with this uncertainty thanks to its high performance copper material, all-cook top compatibility and robust construction among other things.

This pot will definitely be your ‘go-to’ cookware when you think of playing around with jams and preserves! As an added bonus we have included one of our favorite peach jam recipes below – enjoy jamming!

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds of fruit, cut into 1-inch chunks if large.
  • 1½ pounds of sugar (or 3 1/3 cups).
  • ¼ tablespoon of coarse salt.
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice.

Pro tip: Use ripe peaches, ones ready to eat because the skin comes off with ease.

Recipe

The first thing to do is to take off the skin from the peach and the easiest way to do it is by blanching the peaches in boiling water for about 35-40 seconds. Next, immediately place them in a cold water bath for another 30 seconds but no more! Make sure not to leave them soaking. Next just start peeling the skin to get that nice pulp from these peaches for your jam.

Now cut them into halves and take the pit out.

Next for the cooking process you should have a heavy base pan something along the lines of the Mauviel’s M’Passion Copper 15-Quart Jam Pan we reviewed above. At a medium-high heat add the peaches, salt and lemon juice to the jam pan, and keep cooking the peaches for about 12 minutes or until you see them softening. Start mashing the mixture with the help of a potato masher to a nice consistent paste like texture or you can leave it a bit chunky if you like.

Now at low heat add the sugar, mix well and let it cook for another 5 minutes. Bring the flame to medium-high heat and let the mixture boil. At this point your jam is cooked but to achieve that thick preserve like consistency you need to slow cook this jam mixture for another 30-40 minutes at very low heat so that the sugar in the peaches starts making it thick and gooey. You will know it is ready when it sticks to the tasting spoon rather than leaving a trail behind.

Once ready let the jam cool down and then store it in mason jars. Then you are done!

Happy Jamming!
